Nepal experiences moderate rainfall and thunderstorms across several provinces

Nepal is currently experiencing the effects of a western low-pressure system, local winds, and a low-pressure area in the lower atmosphere near its eastern region.

At present, the hilly and mountainous areas of Madhesh, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as Koshi, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, are generally cloudy. The remaining Terai regions have partial cloud cover.

According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, moderate rainfall is occurring in a few places in Koshi, Bagmati, and Lumbini provinces, with light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning in one or two places in Madhesh, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces. This afternoon, the hilly and mountainous areas are expected to remain generally cloudy, while the Terai regions will have partial cloud cover.

There is a possibility of moderate rain or snowfall with thunder and lightning in some places in the hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, and in a few places in the hilly and mountainous areas of the remaining provinces. Additionally, there is a chance of light rain with thunder and lightning in one or two places in the Terai regions.

The division also forecasts that tonight, Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces will be generally cloudy, while the rest of the regions will have partial cloud cover.

There is a possibility of moderate rain or snowfall with thunder and lightning in a few places in the hilly and mountainous areas of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.
