Reports indicate that the war is nearing an end, yet there has been an exchange of fire between Iran and America in the Strait of Hormuz. Both sides have accused each other of initiating the attack.

According to Iran’s state broadcaster, explosions have been heard in the Hormuz area. The broadcaster reported that there has been gunfire between Iran and the “enemy”.

The United States Central Command claimed that as American Navy guided-missile destroyers were heading towards the Gulf of Oman, Iran launched an attack, prompting the American forces to respond in self-defense.

According to CENTCOM, three American ships were passing through the area when Iranian forces attacked with multiple missiles, drones, and small boats.

In a statement, they said, “CENTCOM does not wish to escalate tensions, but is fully prepared to ensure the safety of American forces.”

American President Donald Trump, via social media, claimed that Iranian ships suffered “significant damage” and urged Iran to accept the deal proposed by America.

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) accused American forces of targeting an oil tanker and another ship entering Hormuz.

Additionally, Iran claimed that there were American airstrikes near Tehran, specifically on Qeshm Island and the southern coastal cities of Bandar Khamir and Sirik. According to Iranian semi-official media Fars, explosions were heard in the Persian Gulf areas of Qeshm Island and Bandar Abbas.
