Voting has begun for the selection of new leadership in the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry. The voting is taking place at the Nepal Academy.

According to the existing statute of the federation, the senior vice president automatically becomes the president. As per this provision, the current senior vice president, Anjan Shrestha, is set to become the new president for the upcoming term.

Although the presidency is automatically secured, there is intense competition for other various executive positions. Two panels led by Hemraj Dhakal and Shiv Prasad Ghimire are contesting in the election. Candidates are competing in these two panels.

There is a rivalry between candidates from both groups to establish dominance in the executive positions, including the senior vice president.
