Gujarat defeats Punjab Kings by 4 wickets in IPL match

Punjab Kings suffered their second defeat of the season in the Indian Premier League. In the match held on Sunday night, Gujarat secured their sixth victory by defeating Punjab Kings by 4 wickets.

After losing the toss, Punjab batted first and scored 163 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. For Punjab, Suryansh Shedega scored 57 runs, Marcus Stoinis made 40, and Marco Jansen contributed 20 runs.

Similarly, Prabhsimran Singh scored 15 runs, and captain Shreyas Iyer added 19 runs. For Gujarat, Jason Holder took 4 wickets, while Mohammad Siraj and Kagiso Rabada claimed 2 wickets each. Rashid Khan took another wicket.

Chasing a target of 164 runs, Gujarat completed it with 1 ball to spare, losing 6 wickets in the process. Sai Sudarshan played a half-century innings scoring 57 runs for Gujarat, while Washington Sundar remained unbeaten on 40 runs, hitting 5 fours and 1 six in 23 balls. Jos Buttler scored 26 runs off 22 balls. With this win, the IPL points table has become more exciting.

Despite the defeat, Punjab remains at the top of the points table with 13 points from 9 matches, while Bangalore is in second place with 12 points from the same number of matches. Hyderabad, Rajasthan, and Gujarat also have 12 points each, but they have played one more match. Today, Mumbai and Lucknow will face off in the tournament.
