Moderate to heavy rainfall with thunderstorms expected in parts of Nepal today

Kathmandu – According to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology, Meteorological Forecasting Division, there is a possibility of moderate to heavy rainfall with thunderstorms in some areas today.

The department reports that the country will generally experience cloudy weather. Some areas in the Sudurpaschim and Lumbini provinces, as well as parts of the Himalayan and hilly regions, may witness moderate rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning, wind, and hail. A few places in the Terai region might also experience similar weather. Additionally, heavy rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning is likely in one or two places in the Sudurpaschim and Karnali provinces.

Tonight, the weather across the country is expected to remain generally cloudy. Some areas in the Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpaschim provinces, along with a few places in other provinces, may experience moderate rainfall with thunderstorms, lightning, wind, and hail. The department also indicates a possibility of heavy rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning in one or two places in the Lumbini province.
