2,111 drivers penalized, Rs 565,000 collected for traffic violations in Kathmandu

In the past 24 hours, 2,111 drivers have faced action for violating traffic rules. This has resulted in the collection of Rs 565,000 in revenue for the state treasury. According to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, actions were taken against 109 individuals for driving under the influence, 184 for illegal ride-sharing, 103 for violating traffic signals, and 222 for speeding.

Additionally, 138 drivers were penalized for not maintaining lane discipline, 67 for honking in prohibited areas, 86 for parking on sidewalks, and 42 for violating rules regarding picking up and dropping off passengers at designated spots. Furthermore, 1,160 individuals faced action for other traffic rule violations.
