Nepse index drops 26.16 points; hotels and tourism sector down 2.56%

Kathmandu – The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index fell by 26.16 points, settling at 2,770.26.

According to NEPSE, shares of 349 companies were traded 151,286 times today, with a total transaction value of Rs 6.52 billion for 14,013,167 shares.

In today’s trading, the ‘Others’ group increased by 0.73%, while all other sub-indices declined. The banking sector fell by 0.84%, development banks by 1.22%, finance companies by 0.61%, hotels and tourism by 2.56%, hydropower by 1.74%, investment by 0.47%, and the life insurance group by 0.16%.

Similarly, the manufacturing and processing group decreased by 2.46%, microfinance by 0.44%, mutual funds by 0.31%, non-life insurance by 0.39%, and the trading group by 0.39%.

The share price of Himalayan Bank Limited Bond 2086 saw the highest increase today, rising by 6%. Conversely, the share price of Corporate Development Bank Limited experienced the largest drop, falling by 14.99%.
