46 Nepalis Rescued from Cambodia

Kathmandu — The Nepali Embassy in Bangkok has rescued 46 Nepalis from Cambodia. All those rescued have returned home.

They had reached Cambodia through various channels and were reportedly being forced into illegal activities. They were rescued and repatriated with the support of the Cambodian government.

According to the embassy, 101 Nepalis went to Cambodia in 2021 lured by promises of attractive jobs, followed by 1,977 in 2022, 2,940 in 2023, 6,404 in 2024, and 9,676 in 2025.

The embassy has also urged Nepalis not to travel to Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, and Thailand without obtaining proper labour approval.
