Twenty Ugandan Women Arrested in Thamel for Alleged Immoral Activities

Kathmandu – Police have arrested 20 women from Uganda in Ward 26, Thamel, Kathmandu Metropolitan City.

The women, aged between 23 and 44, were taken into custody late last night on charges of engaging in obscene activities in public places and causing distress to passersby, according to officials.

According to Superintendent of Police Pawan Bhattarai of the Kathmandu District Police Range, the suspects were reportedly obstructing pedestrians, including foreign and domestic tourists, and engaging in inappropriate conduct.

Police confirmed the arrests and said the Kathmandu District Administration Office has extended their detention by 12 days while investigations continue.
