Two Sisters Found Dead in Rukum West, Another Teen Missing

Rukum West — The bodies of two sisters from the same family have been found in Rukum West, while another teenage girl remains missing.

The bodies of 14-year-old Urmila Woli and 12-year-old Kalpana Woli, both residents of the same area, were discovered on Tuesday in the Sani Bheri River at Baghle in Banphikot Rural Municipality-3.

According to Police Inspector Hari Prasad Pun, information officer at the District Police Office, Rukum West, the two were sisters from the same household.

Local residents informed the police after noticing the girls drowning in the river. Inspector Pun said their bodies were recovered about 500 meters apart.

Meanwhile, 13-year-old Sapana Woli, also from the same locality, is missing, and a search operation is underway.

The girls had reportedly left home on Monday to attend a wedding in Bhalkhola of Musikot Municipality-1, but did not return. It is still unclear how they ended up in the river.
