Kathmandu — There is no likelihood of rain on the day of Thursday’s House of Representatives election, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology’s forecast. The Meteorological Forecasting Division says the weather will be clear nationwide with no rainfall expected on election day.

Meteorologist Varun Paudel said that most places are expected to experience generally clear conditions. “On election day, weather across the country will remain clear, and we have been regularly updating the Election Commission with weather information,” he added.

Paudel noted that Friday could see light rain or snowfall in some hilly and mountainous areas, but otherwise conditions will be mostly clear. The department also said there is a chance of isolated rain and snowfall today in the highland regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces.

In Lumbini Province’s mountain areas the skies will be partly cloudy, while most other places are forecast to remain mainly clear. The Terai plains, including Madhesh Province, are also expected to have generally fair weather.

The meteorological division said it is continuously monitoring weather conditions throughout the election period and will issue updated bulletins as needed, urging authorities and the public to follow the latest forecasts.
