Kathmandu – The impact of rising tensions in the Middle East has reached Tribhuvan International Airport as well.

International flights scheduled to operate via seven different airports in that region have been cancelled. Due to flight bans at Sharjah, Doha, Dubai, Kuwait City, Abu Dhabi, Qatar, and Dammam airports, departures from Tribhuvan International Airport to these destinations were called off.

Because of the cancellations, passengers have been left stranded since Saturday. On Sunday morning, many were still seen waiting in uncertainty, moving about the terminal. Various notices and advisories were posted throughout the airport.
