Police Arrest One in Dang Following UML Flag Burning Incident

In Tulsipur, Dang, police have arrested a man accused of involvement in burning a flag bearing the election symbol of the CPN-UML.

According to the District Police Office, Dang, the incident occurred on the night of February 19 (Falgun 7) at Birendra Chowk in Tulsipur Sub-Metropolitan City-5. A video surfaced on social media showing individuals burning the UML flag amidst a crowd gathered to welcome Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Rabi Lamichhane during his journey from Surkhet to Ghorahi.

Based on that video, the police launched an investigation. During the process, 55-year-old Buddhi Bahadur Basnet, a resident of Kalakhola, Tulsipur-7, was identified and taken into custody.

Police stated that further investigation into Basnet is underway, and a search is ongoing for other individuals involved in the incident.
