Prime Minister Karki Urges Unity for Nation Building

Kathmandu – Prime Minister Sushila Karki has extended heartfelt greetings to all Nepali sisters and brothers on the occasion of the 76th Democracy Day.

In a message shared on social media, Prime Minister Karki recalled that although the revolution of 2007 BS transformed people from subjects into citizens, it was on this day in 2015 BS that the first parliamentary elections began. She also referred to today as Election Day.

In her social media post, she wrote:
“We, including leaders, have failed to make democracy a way of life. We had to protest repeatedly. Now we must end that cycle. Let’s address our commitment against corruption, nepotism, and discrimination through institutional reform.”

Referring to today as Election Day, the Prime Minister urged everyone to unite for democratic stability and a prosperous Nepal through clean, fair, and fear-free elections.

Prime Minister Karki also paid tribute to all the martyrs who devoted their lives for democracy and good governance.
