The newly elected lawmakers will take oath of office and secrecy Thursday

The swearing-in ceremony will be chaired by Pashupati Shumsher Rana, the eldest member of the House. He will be administering the oath to all members.

Rana, after he took oath of office and secrecy from the president Bidya Devi Bhandari wednesday has assumed office as the protem speaker of the Federal Parliament Secretariat.

According to the Federal Parliament Secretariat, the oath paper is prepared in Nepali language and those willing to take oath of office and secrecy in their mother tongue will have to give prior notice.

The Secretariat has already requested newly elected HoR members for their presence with election certificates, said Dr. Roinath Pandey, Spokesperson of the Federal Parliament Secretariat.

With the completion of the swearing-in ceremony, the secretariat will hand in a pin representing the logo of parliament to the HoR members.
