Kathmandu — Even leaders of Generation Z appear dissatisfied with the current government led by Prime Minister Sushila Karki.

Gen-Z activist Miraj Dhungana  — who has been protesting against the prime minister and home minister Om Prakash Aryal for the past week — expressed discontent with the upcoming elections. He asked, “What will Gen Z gain from this election?” saying that until there is a direct-executive system, elections have no justification.

Another Gen-Z activist, Bhawana Raut, also voiced her dissatisfaction with Prime Minister Karki and the current government. Through social media she warned: “I only hope history does not record this civilian government as one run by a clique serving individual interests. Do not deceive us again.”

Earlier too, Gen-Z activist Rakshya Bam had criticized the government. Her group, the Nepal Leaders Front, strongly objected to appointments of relatives within the Prime Minister’s Secretariat, and demanded the dismissal of the Prime Minister’s chief personal secretary Adarsha Kumar Shrestha. In response, Prime Minister Karki dismissed several secretariat members — including some Gen-Z youth — and downsized the secretariat, although she retained Secretary-General Shrestha.
