Jeep Accident in Salyan Leaves 19 Injured

Salyan – A jeep (registration number Lu 1 Ja 2368) travelling from Timile, Sharada Municipality Ward No. 12, en route to Shreenagar, crashed on a rural interior road near Resam Jyula (also within Ward No. 12) on Thursday. The vehicle veered off the road and fell approximately 5 meters down, according to Inspector Baburam Basnet of the District Police Office, Salyan.

As many as 19 people were injured in the accident, with one occupant remaining unhurt.  The injured are currently being treated at Karnali Hospital in Shreenagar and at other nearby medical facilities.

The police are investigating the incident. The jeep’s driver, 23-year-old Suresh Budhathoki from Sharada Municipality Ward No. 6, has been taken into custody. Authorities plan to transfer severely injured individuals to hospitals outside the district for advanced care.
