Kathmandu – Samaj Dental has announced the establishment of a medical treatment fund worth NPR 1 crore to assist poor and underprivileged citizens.

On the occasion of its 25th anniversary, Managing Director Shanku Ghimire stated that the institution is committed to providing specialized dental health services with the vision that quality oral care should be accessible to all.

Founded on 1 Shrawan 2058 B.S. (mid‑2001), Samaj Dental currently operates from 10 locations across Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, and Kavre, with plans to expand services to all 77 districts of Nepal.

At the same event, Health and Population Minister Pradip Paudel stressed the need to expand and systematize dental services as part of promoting medical tourism. He emphasized enhancing trust in ophthalmic and dental care to attract international visitors.

In his opening remarks, Congress spokesperson and hospital founder Shyamkumar Ghimire mentioned plans to extend the hospital’s services nationwide. He noted the institution was established with goals of raising public awareness about oral health, improving access for general populations, and training necessary healthcare professionals.

Currently, Samaj Dental is delivering services from 10 locations, and this fund is a significant step toward providing free or subsidized dental care to the underserved.
