Dhading – Two Bodies Found at Separate Locations in the Trishuli River Following Flooding from Upper Nuwakot

Due to increased water flow in the Trishuli River following a flood originating from the upper region of Nuwakot, two bodies have been found in separate locations of Dhading district.

The bodies were discovered in Belkhu, Ward No. 6 of Gajuri Rural Municipality, and in Keureni, Ward No. 2 of Galchi Rural Municipality. Both bodies are male, according to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Subash Hamal of the District Police Office.

Since early morning, the water flow in the Trishuli River has risen significantly. In Benighat Rorang Rural Municipality–7 of Dhading, a body that was being cremated on the riverbank was also swept away by the river.

Local resident Kumar Basnet reported that the sudden flood during the cremation washed away the body along with the funeral pyre.

A joint notice issued by the District Administration Offices of Dhading, Nuwakot, and Rasuwa has warned residents living near the riverbanks to exercise extreme caution due to the high water flow in the river’s source area following heavy rainfall on the night of Ashar 23 (Nepali calendar date).

The public has also been requested to immediately inform the nearest security agency about any potential incidents of flooding, landslides, or other natural disasters.
