KathmanduPushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’, Chairman of the Nepal Communist Party (Maoist Centre), has urged for effective rescue and relief operations for those affected by the devastating flood in the Bhotekoshi River this morning.

Through a social media post today, he expressed deep sorrow over the damage caused by the flood, mentioning significant destruction to important structures, including the Miteri Bridge connecting Nepal and China.

He stated, “In this dire situation of natural disaster, I strongly demand that the government immediately and effectively mobilize all its mechanisms for rescue and relief efforts.”

Chairman Dahal has also instructed party leaders and cadres at all levels to actively participate in the rescue and relief operations.

He further highlighted the need for the government to exercise high vigilance and take concrete steps for disaster risk reduction, especially as meteorologists are warning of above-average rainfall this year.

“I appeal to all government bodies, political parties, organizations, and citizens to work together in this time of crisis,” he added.
