Slow progress on the Maharajgunj to Chappal Karkhana road expansion (with photos)

Kathmandu – The progress on the second phase of the Ring Road expansion, focusing on the Maharajgunj to Chappal Karkhana section, is moving slowly.

The Division Road Office in Minbhawan had signed an agreement with M/S Ambuja – Kali S.K. JV to complete the work by Ashad 2082 (mid-2026). However, the project is not on track to meet the deadline.

The stretch from Maharajgunj Chowk to Chappal Karkhana, approximately 700 meters long, is planned to expand into a 10-lane road, including service lanes.

Currently, the work involves placing curbstones and constructing drainage systems around the Chappal Karkhana Chowk area.
