Kathmandu – National Assembly member Jitjung Basnet has stated that the shortcomings and errors made in the House of Representatives in cooling period will be corrected by the National Assembly.

On Wednesday, a bill related to the Federal Civil Service, which was passed by the House of Representatives, was brought to the National Assembly with a message. Basnet informed Deshsanchar that the National Assembly plans to amend the bill to include a two-year cooling period.

There has been widespread demand for an investigation into alleged tampering with the cooling period, as reported in the State Affairs and Good Governance Committee’s report from the House of Representatives.

During a committee meeting on Wednesday, all members, including Chairman Ramhari Khatiwada, called for the establishment of a high-level parliamentary investigation committee to take action against those responsible.

The committee has decided to request Speaker Devraj Ghimire to investigate the report, which was prepared outside the committee’s decision-making process.
