Kathmandu – The State Affairs and Good Governance Committee has sought the intervention of the National Assembly regarding alleged manipulations in the cooling-off provision.

On Wednesday, the committee held a meeting where it appealed to the National Assembly to amend the Civil Service Bill, which includes provisions about the cooling-off period, that has already been passed by the House of Representatives.

The committee decided to request the National Assembly to make necessary corrections. Additionally, it decided to ask Speaker Devraj Ghimire to establish a high-level investigative committee to probe the issues surrounding the cooling-off period.

The resolution stated that the Speaker should be requested to form such a committee to investigate who was involved and the extent of their wrongdoing in what has been described as a conspiratorial and malicious matter.
