Kathmandu – Nepali Congress MP Chandra Bhandari has strongly criticized the civil service bill introduced in parliament. He believes the bill is undermining the country’s moral foundations by being deceptive, fraudulent, and self-serving.

Expressing his views on social media, Bhandari indicated his frustration by questioning, “If they deceive and defraud even the parliament members, how much has this nation been exploited in the name of self-interest? Where did we go wrong?” He labeled the occurrence as an “unforgivable crime” and emphasized the need for a historical precedent-setting punishment.

Bhandari claims that the process concerning this bill seems non-transparent and conspiratorial, which he argues has insulted not only the parliament but also the broader democratic process. According to him, those responsible for this bill should be held accountable and scrutinized thoroughly. He accused the higher authorities in the government and the parliament of advancing the bill for personal gain rather than public good.

He further remarked that the situation has generated deep disappointment among those loyal to democracy, suggesting that such events bring great shame to the nation’s democratic principles.
