Nepse rises by 9 points

Kathmandu – The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index saw an increase today. The NEPSE index rose by 9.19 points, closing at 2,631.48.

In today’s trading, shares from 318 different companies were actively exchanged. A total of 14,172,535 shares were traded 63,371 times, amounting to a transaction value of NPR 6.38 billion.

Despite declines in some sectors—finance by 0.06%, hotels and tourism by 0.03%, hydropower by 0.28%, and others by 0.36%—most other sector indices experienced growth.

The manufacturing and processing sector topped the gainers with a 1.63% increase. The banking sector rose by 0.38%, development banks by 0.72%, investment by 0.02%, life insurance by 0.82%, microfinance by 0.92%, mutual funds by 0.36%, non-life insurance by 0.61%, and the trading sector by 0.72%.

In terms of individual company performances, Rapti Hydro and General Construction Limited’s share price jumped the highest, increasing by 9.97%, while Panchakanya Mai Hydropower Limited saw a decrease of 4.92%.

Regarding trading volume, Sahas Urja Limited recorded the highest transaction value, with shares worth NPR 365.398 million changing hands. In terms of the number of shares traded, Singati Hydro Energy Limited led with 715,939 shares exchanged.
