Kathmandu – The parliament hearing for Meghraj Pokharel, Shrikant Paudel, and Shanti Singh Thapa, who have been proposed for judgeship at the Supreme Court, has been concluded.

The hearing committee conducted sessions for Pokharel and Paudel on Sunday, while a hearing for Thapa and Mahesh Nepal, who is recommended for member of the Judicial Council, took place on Monday. However, a decision on whether to approve them will not be made on Monday.

Although the committee intended to approve them today, a few theoretical issues were raised, leading to a hold on the decision, according to a committee member.

According to sources, the decision is being stalled due to dissatisfaction from UML regarding Pokharel’s recommendation as a judge, as he comes from a legal practitioner background.
