Monday’s slight increase of 4.78 points on the Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index represented a slight 0.18 percent rise over the previous trading session. The benchmark index closed above 2,600 points as a result of this increase.

The overall trade volume fell significantly even if the index increased little. A total of 175.87 million shares were exchanged in 70,831 trades, generating a turnover of Rs6.47 billion. This represents a substantial drop from the Rs9.14 billion in revenue on Sunday.

The share prices of 123 companies increased, 124 companies decreased while one stayed at the same.

Six of the 13 categories that were active on Monday, including mutual funds, development banks, life insurance, manufacturing and processing, non-life insurance, and others, reported losses, while seven closed in positive territory.

The overall performance indicates a cautious but stabilizing sentiment in the market, with mixed results across sectors and a lower-than-usual trading volume.
