Court Orders: Lamichhane Detained in Bhairahawa Jail

Ravi Lamichhane, the chairman of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), who was arrested on Friday, has been sent to jail. Lamichhane, who was arrested in connection with the Supreme Cooperative case in Butwal, has been sent to Bhairahawa Jail.

The Rupandehi District Police Office sent Lamichhane to Bhairahawa Jail on Monday after completing the judicial process.

Ranjit Singh Rathore, Superintendent of Police (SP) of Rupandehi District Police Office, said that he was sent to jail after completing all the judicial procedures. He informed that Lamichhane will remain in Bhairahawa Jail until further orders are received.

Lamichhane was arrested from Kathmandu on Friday and brought to Bhairahawa by plane on Saturday after the Butwal bench of the High Court, Tulsipur, ordered him to be detained.

Former DIG Chhabilal Joshi, who is also involved in the same cooperative case, is also in Bhairahawa Jail.
