Ghising’s dismissal after three days

Kathmandu- Kulman Ghising, Executive Director chief of the Nepal Electricity Authority, is likely to be sacked after a ‘explanation’ notice returnable in the next 72 Hours.
The decision of the cabinet taken last night comes as an endorsement of the wish of controversial Energy Minister Dipak Khadka who has sought explanations from Ghising few times but failed to act as each time Ghising has questioned the minister’s jurisdiction.
The cabinet decision last night, a minister said, will lead to Ghising!s removal after three days. Ghising is serving the post even after his suspension by the cabinet few months ago following a stay order issued by the Supreme Court.
Sources said that the Nepali Congrss is eying for the post and Arjun Karki, a former secretary, is likely to be tipped for the post.
The Emergency  meeting of the cabinet also delved ‘ into the pro monarchy activities through out the country but has not disclosed its response.‘
‘We hope that pro- republicans will come together against the possibility of the return of the monarchy,’ sources said.
The cabinet promoted Janak Bhattarai to the rank of Additional Inspector General of the Nepal police and appointed Dr Bikash Devkota  as the new health secretary.
