Children Scribble Letters at Swayambhu’s Saraswati Temple on Basanta Panchami (PHOTOS)

Kathmandu – Today, on the occasion of Basanta Panchami, also known as Shree Panchami, the worship and reverence of Goddess Saraswati, the deity of knowledge, is being celebrated.

There is a popular belief that worshipping Saraswati on this day enhances one’s knowledge and wisdom. It is also a tradition to teach children who have reached the age of attending school to recognize and write letters on this day.

Today, there is a large crowd of devotees at the Saraswati Temple located in Swayambhu, Kathmandu, to offer prayers and worship.

The walls, fences, and other areas of the temple are filled with letters scribbled by children, symbolizing the beginning of their educational journey.
