Couples found dead at a hotel in Sinamangal

Kathmandu – A husband and wife who had arrived in Nepal from Canada on Saturday were found dead in a hotel in Sinamangal.

According to the Kathmandu District Police Office, 34-year-old Ramesh Majhi from Sunsari, Duhabi, and his 29-year-old wife were found hanging from the railing of the balcony of the Janmabhoomi Hotel in Sinamangal, with a piece of cloth tied around their necks.

They had gone to Canada in 2022 and returned to Kathmandu yesterday, Saturday, and were staying in room number 120 of the hotel.

Police suspect that they may have committed suicide due to family reasons. The spokesperson of the District Police Office, Navaraj Adhikari, said that further investigation is underway.

Their family has confirmed that they were husband and wife.
