Shrestha makes it big in ‘Great British Bake Off: The Professionals 2024’
Kathmandu, Oct 7: Narayan Shrestha has made waves in the culinary world by winning the title of Great British Bake Off: The Professionals 2024, expanding his international presence in baking.
Hailing from Maidi in Dhading, Nepal, Shrestha completed the ten plus two education in Kathmandu before embarking on a journey that took him from the UAE to Qatar and finally to the UK. Alongside his teammate Tanuj Sharma from India, Shrestha represented Intercontinental London – The O2, and together they triumphed over 12 finalist teams with their remarkable creativity and skill.
Their success marks a historic achievement as they are the first South Asian duo to clinch this prestigious title. Known for his expertise in chocolate, Chef Narayan views this accomplishment as one of the pinnacle moments of his career, bringing pride not only to himself but also to Nepal. His passion for culinary arts sparked after school, leading him to work as an assistant chef at the Double Tree Hotel in the UAE in 2014.
Following a year in Dubai, he moved to Doha to work at the Four Seasons Hotel before arriving in the UK in 2023, where he participated in the Bake Off competition.
