NEPSE Index Jumps 44 Points Amidst Slower Trading

Kathmandu: The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index has surged by 44.45 points, but the trading volume has contracted to nearly four billion rupees.

The NEPSE index has increased by 1.80 percent today, reaching two thousand five hundred eight point eighty-six.

Today, 97 million 17 thousand nine hundred fifty-nine units of shares of three hundred nineteen companies were traded fifty thousand six hundred eighty times, and the trading amount contracted to Rs. 3 Arba 71 Crore 53 lakh 59 thousand nine hundred thirty-five. Today’s trading volume in NEPSE is the lowest in the last three months.

The mutual fund has decreased by 0.60 percent, while the sub-indices of all other groups have increased. The finance group has increased the most by 4.19 percent, followed by the manufacturing and processing group by 3.83 percent.

Banking has increased by 1.18 percent, development banks by 1.93 percent, hotels and tourism by 3.28 percent, hydropower by 1.22 percent, life insurance by 1.78 percent, and microfinance by 1.85 percent.

Similarly, non-life insurance has increased by 0.71 percent, trading by 1.52 percent, and other groups by 2.37 percent. The share price of CEEDB Hydropower Development Company Limited has hit a positive circuit breaker today. Prabhu Select Fund’s share price has decreased the most by 9.36 percent.

In terms of trading amount, CEEDB Hydropower Development Company Limited has the highest trading of Rs. 170 million 69 lakh 64 thousand twenty-seven today. In terms of the number of shares traded, however, 12 lakh one thousand four hundred twenty units of Citizen Super-30 Mutual Fund shares were traded.
