Nepal and the US Pacific Air Forces to go for joint exercise
Kathmandu- The Nepal and the US will begin their joint exercise to boost coordination and show case their capabilities in humanitarian Aid and Disaster Management.
The joint event —Pacific Angel 24 exercise that off Sunday —is designed to boost coordination between the Nepali Army and U.S. Department of Defense and showcase their capabilities in Humanitarian Aid and Disaster Relief.
A US Embassy Release said teams will focus on crucial skills like aeromedical evacuation, casualty evacuation, infectious disease control, and patient movement. A US Air Force HC-130J Combat King II, a specially modified and upgraded airplane to perform search-and-rescue missions, will be used to train the Nepali Army in disaster response operations.
‘ We are proud of our long military-to-military cooperation with the Nepali Army on peacekeeping operations, humanitarian assistance, and disaster response training. With U.S. Indo-Pacific Command ‘, the release said.
