Crowd of Visitors at Krishna Temple (Photos)

On the occasion of Krishna Janmashtami, there has been a crowd of visitors at the Patan Temple since early Sunday morning for worship and rituals.

Devotees have been waiting in line since the morning for their turn, while arrangements have been made for the elderly to avoid standing in line. Lines have been organized on the southern and northern sides of the temple for the convenience of the visitors.

Hindus across the country are observing the ‘Krishna Janmashtami’ festival today by worshipping and revering Lord Krishna with faith and devotion.

Since Lord Krishna, the proponent of Jnana Yoga, Karma Yoga, and Bhakti Yoga, was born at midnight on the eighth day of the Bhadra month during the Dvapara Yuga, today is celebrated as ‘Krishna Janmashtami’ and the night is referred to as ‘Maharatri.’

On this day, Krishna temples across the country are engaged in worship and reverence of Lord Krishna, with discourses and devotional singing. Additionally, it is customary for both men and women to observe a fast and stay awake throughout the night.

Nepal Scouts and the Lalitpur Metropolitan Police have been deployed for managing the crowd of devotees.
