Qatar Emir left for his country after paying a state visit to Nepal

Kathmandu, 24 Apr: First by a head of the state that’s been home for over 400,000 Nepali labours, Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad AL-Thani who was accorded the highest protocol left ‘happy and satisfied’ as per the local officials.

The two sides signed seven memorandum of understanding bringing the two countries to a closer framework of cooperation and partnership.

According to the official sources, the two sides have agreed to cooperate in the field of Culture and Arts between the Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation of Nepal and the Ministry of Culture of the State of Qatar besides the official news of two countries agreeing for exchange of news.

The MOU signed in presence of the Emir and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dadhal ‘Prachannda’ also brings two sides together in the Field Higher Education and Scientific Research between the Government of Nepal and the Government of the State of Qatar.

Qatar has agreed to cooperate and help Nepal in the Field of Youth and Sports, and the office of the Attorney General of Nepal and the Public Prosecution of the State of Qatar will also work together, something that may help ensuring the legal rights and protection of Nepali workers there.

The Institute of Foreign Affairs (IFA) of the Government of Nepal and The Diplomatic Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar will CC also start exchange and training programmes.

Another MOU may result in the establishment of the Joint Business Council (JBC) between Qatar Chamber and the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FNCCI) along with the renewal of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Qatar Chamber and the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FNCCI).

The Emir, on a two-day State visit at the friendly invitation of President Ramchandra Paudel, landed at Kathmandu on Tuesday afternoon. The Emir’s entourage consisted of around 80 members including ten ministers.
