NC leader Keshav Budhathoki passes away
Kathmandu, 06 Feb: Keshav Kumar Budhakothi, 80, a former Minister and leader of the Nepali Congress is no more.
Budathoki passed away last night at a hospital in Biratnagar where he was undergoing treatment for prostate cancer for the past few weeks.
Budathoki, a North Point (Darjeeling) alumni was a minister of state during the 1990 movement for restoration of Democracy and was the first to resign supporting the movement.
The mortal remains would remain at the NC Party Office, Jhapa till 1 pm for the final tribute and the funeral will be performed at Kankai Mai, according to the family.
He is survived by his spouse, two sons and two daughters.
Budhathoki had become a national panchayat member in 2043BS. He later became minister of state for water resources.
He was elected to the House of Representatives from Nepali Congress from Jhapa (5) in 2064Bs and the constituent assembly member in 2070 BS.
