16 people from Sindhuli found in Pokhara’s Gagangauda, staying split between two houses

Kathmandu – Members of the Huyu family, who had been missing from Sindhuli, have been found in Gagangauda, Pokhara.

All 16 missing individuals were located in Gagangauda, within Pokhara Metropolitan City-30, as confirmed by Superintendent of Police Shyambabu Oliya of the Kaski District Police. According to him, they were discovered at the homes of Somnath Paudel and Chandra Bhandari. “They had settled in two separate houses,” he mentioned.

The group is currently being brought to the Sisawa Area Police Office, where arrangements are being made to hand them over to their relatives. They had arrived and stayed at Hotel Janani in Pokhara last Saturday.

Hotel operator Sunil Bhurtel stated that the group checked in on Saturday and checked out on Sunday.

The police had employed all available resources to locate the 16 people who went missing along with Urmila Huyu from Golanjore Rural Municipality-6, Bhandas Bipper in Sindhuli.

For three days, Urmila Huyu’s six daughters, six sons, a daughter-in-law, a granddaughter, and a son-in-law were unaccounted for. The police had been deployed to Bhandas Bipper after receiving reports about the 16 missing individuals on Monday at 12:30 PM.

Urmila’s husband is deceased, and the Huyu community is considered an endangered ethnic group. On Friday, they had collected an allowance from the ward office.
