150 Players Shortlisted for NPL Mini Auction

Kathmandu – A shortlist of players has been prepared for the mini auction of the second edition of the Nepal Premier League (NPL).

From this list, franchises will be able to bid on only 37 players.

NPL has shortlisted 150 players out of 458 applicants who had submitted applications to participate in the auction. These 150 players were either recommended by the eight participating franchises or selected based on the criteria set by the technical team of the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN).

The 150 shortlisted players have been divided into different categories:

  • Category A: 8 players

  • Category B: 35 players

  • Category C: 107 players

Although 150 players are in the final shortlist, only 37 players will be auctioned.

In the first edition of the NPL, a total of 88 players (including marquee players) were selected by teams through the auction. Among them, 51 players (including marquee players) have been retained by the teams for the second edition.

Currently, franchises require a total of 37 players:

  • 4 from Category A

  • 23 from Category B

  • 10 from Category C

Player prices in the auction will vary by category:

  • Category A: Minimum NPR 1 million to maximum NPR 1.5 million

  • Category B: Minimum NPR 500,000 to maximum NPR 1 million

  • Category C: Minimum NPR 200,000 to maximum NPR 500,000
