Former King Gyanendra Shah Arrives in Kathmandu, Greeted by Thousands

Former King Gyanendra Shah arrived in Kathmandu from Pokhara on Sunday afternoon, where he was greeted by thousands of supporters as he exited Tribhuvan International Airport.

As he left the airport, thousands of supporters welcomed him and escorted his vehicle.

He arrived in Kathmandu on a chartered flight from Summit Air.

Supporters of the monarchy chanted slogans like, “Our King, Our Country, Dearer than life,” and “King, come, save the country.”

Upon landing at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, he held discussions in the VIP lounge with RPP (Rastriya Prajatantra Party) Chairman Rajendra Lingden, other leaders Pashupati Shamsher Rana, Prakash Chandra Lohani, and another leader Kamal Thapa.

Thousands of his supporters gathered outside the airport to welcome former King Shah. The RPP has informed that there is a program to take former King Shah to Nirmal Niwas with a rally, cultural displays, and musical bands.

Supporters of the monarchy had been gathering around the airport since morning.

The RPP and other royal supporters had also called on the general public to come to the airport area to welcome him.
